Job Objectives

As the Sales and Marketing organization evolves to become the engine room that powers growth for our business, flawless execution of the commercial growth agenda becomes imperative. Bringing winning initiatives to life on time, and on the budget, will require a senior leader charged engaging both C-suite and functional heads of the business to identify the most important marketing programs to drive both value and volume growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Market planning:

o Work with MKD to develop an annual Marketing plan as a key part of our annual Commercial GAME plan for BU

o Working closely with the Marketing Director to devise an effective marketing strategy by segment/channel across Region and geographies consistent with Commercial GAME Plan.

o Carrying out competitor analysis to ensure the company’s marketing strategy is competing effectively.

o Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals Support the Business Unit Management team in the application of customer coverage models and strategies considering all parameters including, geography, machine population, customer segmentation, sales force capability etc.

o Reporting on all marketing activities to the Director of Marketing

• Product Marketing-

o No real growth is achieved without favourable brand perception in favour of company products. HoM works closely with MKD to develop brand strategies for all brands with our portfolio defining through playbook strategic play of each SKUs and ensuring required equity driving initiative to support the growth of each SKU

• Marketing communication

o Ensure compliance with brand strategy all marketing communication media in a coordinated manner to build affinity for company brands across the different channels and market segmentation.

o Manage Advertising & Media - ATL budgets to maximize value for the company within MKD supervision

o Ensure that brand guidelines are adhered to in all marketing and promotional marketing activities across the company

• Knowledge and Insight Management:

o Lead marketing research agenda to shore up equity scores for company and products to drive market captainship inline value growth objectives

o Provision of insights and dissemination of brand building score to the sales and marketing community to drive growth initiatives

• Brand image management with company representation at industry events and conferences.

• Develop campaign and collateral strategies. Ensure alignment to the business strategy for the particular portfolio, and the BU Marketing and Communications strategy and brand strategy.

• Understanding and application of the business strategies within the portfolio, and how it relates to the BU and country strategy

• Understanding and application of BU Marketing and Communications, and brand strategies.

• Quality of the campaign and collateral strategies and plans

• Quality of insight into the market: consumer attitudes and behaviours

Competence Requirements:


• Strong project management skills and discipline

Educational Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree

An MBA is desirable, but not mandatory

Professional Qualifications:

Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing Certification will be a plus, but not mandatory

Desired Experience:

10-15 years of experience in Sales and Distribution Management in FMCG industry

Previous experience working within a  product marketing organization is a key requirement for success in this role
